Artist Statement

My intent is to capture experiences that might instill in others - as they do for me as I make them - a sense of calm and tranquility. I hope to create a visual field that momentarily transports you away from hectic daily events and into a place that delights in an intimate view of the world.

I have showcased my photos at several juried art festivals and exhibitions and published both poems and photos in many art & literature journals/magazines (see below).

With photography, I am a member of the Willamette Valley PhotoArts Guild and the Corvallis Arts Guild. For poetry, I'm a member of Willamette Writers, The Mid-Valley Poetry Society, and Oregon Poets Association, and a frequent participant in the open mic at the Salem Poetry Project.

I currently serve as the president of the Oregon Poetry Association and am also on the board of directors for The Arts Center in Corvallis, Oregon. From 2006 through 2010, I was committee president of the Fourth Street Festival of Arts & Fine Crafts, an art fair over the Labor Day weekend in Bloomington, IN.
